Katie Ormerod Becomes First Female To Land Double Cork 1080

Wow! That’s all we can say. Respect Katie Ormerod. The title says it all. It was simply put, a trick which people doubted a female would ever be able to complete due to genetic differences with their male counterparts. They were wrong.

And we’re so glad.

This my friends is history in the making.

So, why is it such a big deal?

First, it has NEVER been done before (at least not on camera).

Secondly, “experts” said it could not be done by a female (way to show those douchebags wrong)!

Thirdly, she’s only 16!

Finally, it just kicks arse.

If you are not entirely sure of what the trick actually entails, it is three full spins (1080) with added flippage (the “corked” bit) just to make it crazy difficult.

For now, watch in awe and enjoy history being made by a young girl with one heck of a future in the sport. Here’s to raising the bar and setting new standards. Damn I wish I were 10% this good at 16!

Enjoyed this? Here’s some other stuff we think you’ll find is awesome too!
