Torah Bright Thredbo’s New Ambassador

So… this just happened…

The face of Perisher ski resort just became Thredbo’s resort ambassador for 2014. Confused? Us too.

First and foremost, we LOVE Torah. She is an incredible Australian who has won both Gold and Silver at the Olympic Games, been an innovator in women’s snowboarding and is an all round great women with high morals and gets a natural high from life.

However, us members of the public are not very smart and this is the equivalent of when a sporting stadium changes sponsors. I don’t know about you, but I still continue to call my local stadium after their sponsor from 1988, rather than the sponsor today. Maybe I’m just old.

Awkward.

But as of the 1st of August 2014, Torah has jumped ship.

What’s even more strange is:

1- Perisher has named their half pipe after Torah, “Bright’s Pipe”

2- Thredbo DOESN’T HAVE A PIPE AT ALL! For now at least.

So maybe this has just become the most confusing commercial deal of 2014.

All I know is that having Torah the face of any brand is an absolute coup and I’m sure Thredbo has plenty of plans in mind to leverage their investment. Oh yeah… that’s probably why this happened in the first place. If a truckload of cash (Ozlotto style) backed up to my door and asked me to change my ski resort allegiance, I suppose I could be persuaded as well.

Congrats Torah on the signing and a much bigger congrats to Thredbo for pulling this off!

Now what do we call the half pipe in Perisher for now?

Enjoyed this? Here’s some other stuff we think you’ll find is awesome too!
