Despite higher freezing levels, Whitefish Mountain Resort in Montana still delivered some very fun skiing today.

Rain in town overnight didn’t exactly inspire confidence in an early start, though upon arrival at the mountain base, things were looking up with trees covered in a dusting of white.

The first ride up the lifts this morning had low cloud restricting visibility and kept temperatures cold with a variable wind, though once you hit the top of the mountain, it was obvious that the rain down low fell as snow up high.

Sure, the snow was a little heavy, though dropping into the upper bowls revealed some very fun turns early and conditions stayed exceptionally fun up high all day.

Down lower on the front face of the mountain, it was heavier early, though personally, I love these conditions as it is extremely forgiving and very easy to set an edge whether on skis or board.

Massive shout out to Riley from Whitefish Mountain Resort who showed us around today and we can’t wait to bring to you some more stories from her over the coming episodes as to why you need to get your backside here!

The forecast is calling for continued variable clouds and trace amounts of snow up to possibly a few inches over the coming days. We’re hoping for the latter!
