Snow is falling once again in Vail Colorado and more snow is on the way.<\/p>\n
The day started out with a mix of sun and cloud, though the cloud certainly took over by lunchtime and shortly after, the snow started to fly. Although we didn’t exactly get a huge amount of snow, a slight top up of fluff on any day is going to improve conditions.<\/p>\n
This is welcome snowfall after the recent freeze\/thaw, which has done significant damage to higher traffic areas and traverses, especially in the back bowls. Although we are still well in front of where we were two weeks ago, we certainly could do with some improvement to the cover.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, this snow today is not expected to yield a bounty, with only up to two or three inches expected total. Despite not being a blower powder day, tomorrow should most definitely be enjoyable on the hill.<\/p>\n
The good news is that there is a storm headed for Colorado via Tahoe and Utah over the next few days. We are thinking that most areas will see at least a few inches with confidence growing that up to a foot of snow falling in places with favorable winds.<\/p>\n
Timing is uncertain at this stage, though here in Colorado, we are looking at a Saturday through Monday delivery of the goods.<\/p>\n
Looking further ahead, this current weather pattern should shift bringing a far more snowy late February if things go according to plan and we are very happy to say that.<\/p>\n
Temperatures today dipped when the snow started to fall though stayed comfortable at about 25F. Over the coming days, we expect that temperature to remain steady and dip a little with the arrival of this next front.<\/p>\n
