Posted by Pete on behalf of Hedgie.

December, 2015.

G’day snow buddy’s.

It seems like North America is winning the race for the best start of the season with epic amounts of snowfall. On the other side of the globe The Alps also got off to a good start with an early season dump but clear blue skies of late has stifled the excitement a tad. But what is super exciting in these parts right now is the opening of Austria’s largest ski field called TirolS. A 10 man gondola now links Fieberbrunn the freeride capital of Tirol with the huge and diverse Saalbach Hinterglem in the state of Salzburg.

I am particuarly pumped because The all star lift pass, which I get each year as a ski instructor, already includes the Skiwelt area of Austria (Kitzbühel, Kirchberg, Westerndorf) along with Steinplatte, St Johann and Fieberbrunn (amongst others) but now also includes Saalbach Hinterglem. That there is some 347 lifts and 1,000+ km’s of pistes.

Prices… well they are super cheap, especially for Aussies. 1 day pass in peak season.
