We kick things off today in our daily snow report with some vision of a “pre-ski” at Solitude as it prepares for its public season debut tomorrow. Fine weather is once again expected, so if you are getting itchy feet for some early season turns, be sure to get out early.

This time of year always is busy with resort openings. Resorts seem to always be fighting as to the “first” and another “first” has been achieved with Cypress Mountain becoming the first mountain to open in British Columbia in Canada. Located just out of downtown Vancouver with superb vistas of the city, this resort was one of the featured locations for the 2010 Olypmics, though failed to deliver much snow for competitors at all. We wish them a much better season this year.

Breckenridge is also gearing up for their big 50th anniversary opening and what better way to do it that create a beer to mark the occasion. It’s like the gift you give when the person already has everything. A brilliant town, a superb mountain, a great lifestyle, a kick butt terrain park and now, your own special beer. Does it even matter if it tastes any good?
