Today’s snow report comes from Thredbo, Australia.

A few flakes fell early in the day down to low levels, though as the day warmed up, the snow line rose significantly. Initially, a few cm fell up high, though that cover softened quickly as drizzle and moderate winds negated any gains in the cover.

Below treeline was the place to be today with visibility being pretty much zero up high. Off piste still had some fun, but the inconsistent cover meant that it was hard to get a rhythm.

There is still a great cover of snow across the resort with a super base ready to welcome fresh snowfalls as we lead into the biggest part of the season. It really has been a bumper start to 2009.

The supertrail and high noon were the picks today for a cruise, though the jacket ended the day fairly wet due to the consistent drizzle.

Bottom line is that it was great to be back in Australia skiing amongst the snow gums and we’re looking forward to a bumper season.
