From Beaver Creek, it was another glorious day weather wise on the mountain with the sun continuing to shine.

With these freeze / thaw conditions continuing, put the fat skis away and be careful off piste with the snow starting to get hard and crusty in the morning, only to soften to heavy slop in the afternoon.

On the groomed, there are a lot of ice patches and slick spots, so look out for them, with the only features of the mountain seeming to thrive in these conditions being the bumps. The moguls are in great shape with the sun exposure helping them to soften, especially after mid morning into the afternoon.

Tomorrow, expect more of the same with skiing and boarding conditions gradually becoming more tricky off the groomed as the temperature is set to rise once again above freezing.

The good news is that snow is on its way for Colorado and forecasters have moved its arrival forward to Wednesday night.

For now, pack skis with sharp edges (maybe a great time for a tune – check out the article on why here) and make sure you have the sunscreen handy.
