Ski Resort Conditions and Weather Forecasts

Loveland Ski Area Official Opening 24th October 2011

Loveland Ski Area is officially open as Colorado revels in the early season snowfalls for 2011/2012.

According to all reports, conditions are loads of fun with enough natural cover combined with the snowmaking to ensure the “white ribbon of death” (which refers to the single line of man made snow usually present on the fight for first resort to open) is not in existence at all. “It might as well be early December” says Tim Sleming of Denver as he and his friends made the trip up the highway to be a part of opening day celebrations.

More fresh snow is promised for this week with forecasters predicting good snow falls through the middle of the week that may fall significantly all the way to Denver.

With the promise of another La Nina season and above average snowfalls, Loveland Ski Area will no doubt be a well priced and well located alternative to some of its major competitors further up the road.
