Vail Powder Day and Snow Report – Jan 30 2014

15 inches+ of new snow already and the snow is still falling heavily. Where the bloody hell are you?

It is one heck of a storm rolling through Colorado at the moment and it is dumping like I have never seen before. It just didn’t stop all day and as this post goes live, it is still hammering down outside.

It just didn’t let up snowing throughout the day and that meant free refills for everyone on the mountain. We are also nowhere near the end of this storm and tomorrow is expected to be even better with atmospheric conditions combining to make tonight and tomorrow’s snow even lighter and dryer than today’s, which will prove to be something worth seeing for yourself!

So… are you coming tomorrow?

Temperatures today were comfortable in the 20’s, and tomorrow should be a touch cooler, so be sure to have adequate layers.

The roads are nasty though, so be very careful and check the CDOT website for info on road conditions and closures.

Oh… and if you see the douchebag bearded, non helmet wearing and headphone listening snowboarder I was fortunate enough to meet on a lift today who proved you can still be a tosser and act like a 2 year old on a powder day, tell him I hope he is feeling better soon! Note: It seemed EVERYONE else on the mountain was having an awesome day! Go figure! Hopefully he’s one person you don’t see on the mountain. Buy me a beer and I’ll tell you the superb story. It’s just a shame my camera wasn’t rolling.

Enjoyed this? Here’s some other stuff we think you’ll find is awesome too!
