Lake Tahoe Snow Report (and dog humps pillow)

Why is there a dog humping a pillow? Discover why in this weekend’s snow report!

We spent the weekend checking out conditions at Kirkwood and Northstar and had a superb time in the sun with spring conditions.

The sun was out and the temperatures topped 50 degrees all weekend. It has been weather for sunscreen and jeans and a t-shirt… actually, that should NEVER happen!

It looks like a system with several waves of moisture will start pushing through this week starting about Wednesday and lasting throughout the weekend. My opinion is that there will be plenty of moisture and temperatures will be right for snow to Lake level, though I am concerned that there will not be the action to turn it all into snow.

I’m sure there will be something in these waves and that something should be a foot or more, though lower at some resorts they need a heck of a lot more to get the season back on track.

Kirkwood is definitely doing the best out of the Tahoe resorts at the moment with a deep base all the way to the village whilst other resorts are restricting riding to just the groomers and in some cases, only where the snow has been made earlier in the season.

Having said that, conditions are super fun everywhere and crowds are certainly manageable. We love spring conditions and slush skiing is one of my favorite times of the year.

We expect tomorrow to be similar to today before this weather rolls in, so enjoy the warmth and cross your fingers for this next storm!
