Ski Resort Conditions and Weather Forecasts

Breckenridge Snow Report 11th February 2011

Breckenridge served up a great day of sun today, much warmer and a lighter wind than yesterday.

I always feel good when I give good advice and my advice yesterday to ski in the bowls today was spot on. The wind blew snow over the old tracks and bowl skiing was a treat.

The wind however did blow some snow off some of the groomers exposing some areas and making them quite slick. Keep an eye out for areas that look shiny and smooth and avoid them like the plague.

Weather is expected to warm up, so look out for freeze/thaw conditions down low, as this usually means crusty and hard snow off piste. Up high, I don’t see this being a problem as temperatures should remain below freezing there.

Sun is forecast for at least a few days in Colorado, so make the most of the beautiful weather, because another shift should see snow returning mid to late week next week.

Reprieve for people in Tahoe as they prepare for their first good fall of snow in over a month, with a foot forecast to fall late this weekend. Models are also suggesting that this moisture should head Eastward and hit Colorado a few days later, fingers crossed.
